Guidance Software Introduces Enhanced Forensic Solution EnCase Forensic 7.12

Guidance Software, makers of EnCase®, the gold standard for forensic investigations and security, announced the latest release of EnCase Forensic, v7.12. This version now delivers deeper support for Windows 10 as well as the ability to acquire data from Apple desktops and laptops running the El Capitan operating systems. These enhancements ensure investigators are able to complete comprehensive investigations against today’s most widely adopted system and networks. EnCase Forensic v7.12 also provides law enforcement, government and enterprise investigators with enhanced investigative capabilities.

EnCase Forensic is the trusted standard in criminal and corporate investigations, as well as in courts around the world. With EnCase Forensic investigators can rapidly acquire forensically sound data from a wide variety of devices; identify potential evidence through deep forensic analysis; produce comprehensive reports on their findings; and maintain the integrity of their evidence in a format that courts have come to trust.

Key features of EnCase Forensic v7.12 include:

• Enhanced support for Mac Operating Systems – The EnCase agent, which enables investigations across a network, is now compatible with El Capitan - the newest operating system for Macs. As the adoption of Apple desktops and laptops increase the ability to conduct digital investigations into Apple’s OS becomes even more important.

• Greater Visibility into Windows 10 – Users can now parse artifacts such as link files and Windows Event Logs on Microsoft’s newest operating system – Windows 10.

• Faster Hash Analysis and Filtering –Hash analysis operations are now up to 10 times faster than previous versions of EnCase Forensic, resulting in significant time savings and improved efficiencies.
