GlobalSign becomes Fastest-Growing Certification Authority in France

July 2010 by Marc Jacob

GlobalSign has announced that it has achieved an unrivalled 180% increase in the number of SSL Certificates in use in the French market in the past twelve months, according to Netcraft statistics for May 2010 (www.netcraft.com). In addition, GlobalSign’s market share in France has increased by approximately 123%, an impressive rate which eclipsed the competition. The migration away from the VeriSign brands (VeriSign, GeoTrust and Thawte) is also shown by a 13% decrease in the market leader’s share during the same period. This success reinforces GlobalSign’s position in the overall European SSL market, as customers are increasingly looking for reliable and competitive alternatives to leading providers.

In today’s increasingly unsecure Internet world, GlobalSign is dedicated to ensuring its highly secured, feature-packed range of certificates is made available to a worldwide audience. The last few months have been action-packed for GlobalSign, with the launch of a new website (www.globalsign.fr), accompanied by sales and technical support in the local language. Market proximity, dedicated service and easy-to use products have simplified the process of purchasing and implementing SSL security in France, allowing organisations of all sizes to protect themselves and their customers risk and hassle-free from today’s online security threats.

The rapid growth in market share has highlighted the customers’ reaction to GlobalSign’s value proposition and local presence, as clients across all industries have chosen to implement GlobalSign’s highly trusted 2048 bit SSL Certificates to secure their websites, online transactions, logins, webmail and other next generation services. Leading educational institutions, healthcare organisations, governmental bodies and financial services companies have recently put their trust in the GlobalSign brand. By offering a competitively priced, feature-packed range of SSL Certificates (with free inclusion of Server Gated Cryptography and promotional 3 for 1 server licensing), as well as a simplified management platform for multiple SSL requirements, GlobalSign is hence establishing itself as VeriSign’s most significant competitor in the French enterprise market.

The past year has also seen a significant increase in the number of leading webhosting companies, ISPs, registrars, aggregators and web designers choosing to join GlobalSign’s unique partner program. This reselling opportunity enables them to provide GlobalSign’s feature-packed and flexible range of certificates to their customers, responding to their client’s specific needs, whilst also adding value to their current portfolio and increasing their overall revenue. With access to a dedicated marketing representative, as well as a traditional account manager, GlobalSign provide partners with extra bespoke advice and support to boost their SSL sales, as Dave Elbaze, Netissime, declared: “Our goal is to satisfy every customer by providing a tailored security solution with excellent customer service and GlobalSign’s range of SSL Certificates and French speaking customer support services enable us to do exactly this.” Pricing discounts, product integration, customer support and marketing and sales resources have contributed to a remarkable increase in the number of SSL Certificates being issued in the French market via this channel.

Offering a one-stop shop in digital security, GlobalSign also offer a range of other dedicated digital certificate solutions, highly beneficial to all types and sizes of organisation, including DocumentSign Digital IDs for secure exchange of authentic electronic PDF, as well as PersonalSign Digital IDs for digitally signing and encrypting emails and signing Microsoft Office documents.
