Forrester Identifies AirWatch Secure Content Locker as a Strong Performer in File Sync and Share Platforms Report
July 2013 by Marc Jacob
AirWatch announces its position as a strong performer in “The Forrester Wave™: File Sync and Share Platforms, Q3 2013”.
Forrester evaluated 16 of the most significant solution providers in the market based on current offering, strategy and market presence. The report focuses on providers with significant product momentum, strategic commitments to the market and consistent presence on enterprise shortlists. To qualify, providers were required to handle two primary workloads: managing file sync among multiple devices and sharing content with colleagues and people outside the firm. Forrester listed AirWatch as a strong performer with the highest possible score for security model, mobile strategy and viewer support.
The report, written by Ted Schadler and Rob Koplowitz, states: “Three things define AirWatch’s sweet spot in this market: a strong focus on mobile scenarios with its integrated mobile device management solution; the ability to deploy in a hybrid model, with files and metadata in the cloud or on-premises; and experience securing company-owned and employee-owned devices.” Organizations adopting mobile technologies select the AirWatch EMM platform for its flexibility and fully featured solutions. AirWatch customers can tailor their mobile content storage strategy to integrate with existing files servers such as SharePoint, transfer all content to the AirWatch cloud or third-party solution, or implement a hybrid approach. AirWatch supports the broadest range of device types and ownership models, including Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) scenarios.
AirWatch employs the largest R&D team in the industry, working to constantly enhance its feature set and drive market innovation. As the only pure-play EMM provider included in the report, AirWatch combines its content solution with device and application management for the most comprehensive solution available. With the AirWatch platform, customers can:
Restrict content syncing to Wi-Fi when roaming or nearing data limit
Wipe corporate content to ensure Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
Direct email attachments and applications to open content only in AirWatch Secure Content Locker™
Integrate with directory services to easily distribute content to specified end users
“Organizations across the board are scrambling to identify the right partners to securely implement their mobile content strategies, and this report from a top analyst firm validates for us our strong performance in the industry,” said John Marshall, president and CEO, AirWatch. “Our approach has always been to offer customers the most flexibility as they execute their mobile initiatives. We continue to differentiate from traditional providers and will add additional feature sets to accelerate our platform capabilities in the next quarter.”
