ForeScout recognised as a Visionary in 2009 Magic Quadrant for Network Access Control (NAC)

March 2009 by Marc Jacob

ForeScout Technologies announced it received recognition as a “Visionary” within the Gartner March 2009 “Magic Quadrant for Network Access Control”. The Gartner Magic Quadrant positioned 18 vendors based on their completeness of vision and ability to execute.

“Gartner’s Magic Quadrants are regarded as a means to evaluate the depth of a company’s product and service offerings,” said T. Kent Elliot, CEO of ForeScout. “We believe ForeScout’s position in this Gartner Magic Quadrant provides further validation of our company’s market leadership and ability to deliver an enterprise-grade NAC on a worldwide scale. The number of ForeScout’s global deployments really speaks for itself: close collaboration with our customers is the driving force behind our innovation leadership, and the reason CounterACT continues to be the choice of Government and Fortune 500 enterprises worldwide.”

According to the report, in 2008 the NAC market showed signs of maturing and grew to approximately $221 million, 51 percent over 2007. The report also noted that NAC usage has grown beyond blocking non-compliant devices to cover a wider range of applications, including guest networking services, endpoint baselining, identity-aware networking and monitoring/containment.
