ForeScout Named as One of 20 Fastest Growing Security Companies in 2015 by Silicon Review

October 2015 by Marc Jacob

ForeScout Technologies, Inc. announced that it has been named as one of the 20 Fastest Growing Security Companies in 2015 by the Silicon Review. The company’s rapid growth is attributed to several increasing trends driving a need for continuous monitoring and mitigation at an enterprise level.

Key drivers resulting in the fast-paced corporate growth:

• Increase in personal devices in the workplace: As the prevalence of personally owned computing devices (also known as “BYOD”) in the workplace continues to skyrocket, ForeScout has seen a dramatic rise in the demand to dynamically identify and assess not only network users but also the endpoints and applications accessed across the organisation.
• The Internet of Things (IoT) phenomenon continues to escalate: As predicted by Gartner, IoT will include about 26 billion units by 2020. Endpoints such as IP-connected smart TVs, DVRs, projectors and security cameras within the corporate environment are generally left out of the security sphere. ForeScout understands that in order for a security solution to be effective, it must provide more visibility to endpoints in the network through agentless visibility.
• Nearly continuous string of high-profile data breaches: IDC forecasts that 90 percent of all IT networks will have an IoT-based security breach within the next two years. While there is no shortage of ongoing attacks in the enterprise today, ForeScout has developed a cybersecurity solution that continuously monitors and mitigates attacks through agentless visibility. Its ForeScout CounterACT™ appliance provides identification, operational intelligence and policy-based mitigation of security issues even in the most complex enterprise networks.
• Accelerated staffing: To meet the ongoing demand, the company will increase its footprint to 600 employees in the next 18 months – a 200 percent increase over current staff figures and a boon to the Silicon Valley job market.
