ESET ThreatSense.Net® has shown that Win32/PSW.OnlineGames still holds firmly the position of the threat landscape leader.
Throughout the month of October, Win32/PSW.OnlineGames was linked to 9.49% of reported malware incidents in France. INF/Autorun, another regular appearance in the threat stats, accounted for 7.43% of detections. As its name suggest, this threat exploits the Windows autorun function to launch various harmful applications upon inserting removable media in the computer.
Next in the ranking is the Win32/Conficker worm with 5.05%, followed by Win32/Mabezat scoring 4.92% of computer threats reported by ESET. The fifth position was claimed by the Win32/FlyStudio class of threat. Designed to display malware-related and aggressive advertisements, this threat changes settings of the Internet browser. Throughout October, Win32/FlyStudio was linked to 3.54% of infections in the country.
