Check Point Positioned as Leader in the 2013 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Mobile Data Protection
October 2013 by Marc Jacob
Check Point has announced it has been positioned in the Leaders Quadrant of Gartner’s recent Magic Quadrant for Mobile Data Protection (MDP). This is the seventh consecutive year that Check Point has been named a Leader.
According to Gartner, Mobile Data Protection “is an established market with two primary purposes — first and foremost, to safeguard user device data by means of encryption and authentication; and second, to provide evidence that the protection is working. Most companies, even if not in sensitive or regulated industries, recognize that encrypting business data is a best practice.”
Check Point offers a series of Mobile Data Protection products that provides organizations with a full security solution that safeguards business information. These products emphasize security, a simple user experience, reliability, and a wide breadth of supported devices. Check Point Endpoint Security Solutions include an extensive set of integrated security capabilities, such as Full Disk Encryption, Media Encryption, Firewall & Compliance Check, Remote Access VPN, and the Mobile Access Software Blade. “Hacked or stolen laptops, smartphones and other removable media can cause immeasurable harm in the wrong hands, as the personal and financial data on these devices is extremely sensitive. Check Point is committed to providing mobile data protection solutions that prevent both accidental data loss and cyber criminals from accessing stolen data,” said Dorit Dor, vice president of products at Check Point Software Technologies. “We believe Check Point’s continued placement in the Leaders Quadrant reinforces the company’s dedication to keeping customers safe through our extensive suite of mobile data protection solutions.”
According to Gartner, vendors named Leaders "have products that work well for Gartner clients in small and large deployments. They have long-term road maps that follow and/or influence Gartner’s vision of the developing needs of buyers in the market. Leaders make their competitors’ sales staffs nervous, and force competitors’ technical staffs to follow their lead. Their MDP products are well-known to clients and are frequently found on RFP shortlists."
