Blancco Opens Area Office in Japan

Blancco has expanded its global presence with the opening of its new subsidiary in Japan together with Aucnet Inc. Blancco already has an existing client-base in Japan and the new office promises to enhance customer support and respond to the growing need for secure data erasure solutions in Japan and the Asia-Pacific region.
The Personal Information Protection Law in Japan introduced in April 2005 has forced companies to take action to prevent data from being leaked or stolen. In recent years, some of Japan’s most recognized companies have been in the spotlight following a string of cases in which personal data had been leaked. According to a 2009 KPMG International report,[i] insecure disposal of IT assets is the cause of data loss in 12 percent of cases, resulting in tarnished corporate reputation and costly fines.
Blancco Japan will be the company’s largest international office with 6 dedicated employees. The new office is part of Blancco’s refined and refreshed strategy where the franchising model has been replaced with localized offices and dedicated employees offering better support to its local clientele. Blancco is recognized globally for its advanced data erasure solutions and owes much of its success to constant technology advancement and product development. Blancco is currently actively seeking to expand its business in Italy and Spain.
